A prominent donor to Florida governor Ron DeSantis died in a suspected suicide amid a police probe into allegations of sexual misconduct, it has emerged.
The mystery surrounding Stermon's death is further compounded by revelations that he had an access card to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office headquarters despite not being a member of staff.
News2
While in serving in Congress, DeSantis lived in a Flagler County condo co-owned by Stermon when redistricting drew him out of his seat, DeSantis made him a member of his transition team, and DeSantis appointed him to the Board of Governors over the state university system in 2019.

Influential Republican donor Kent Stermon, who died last week, used a personal badge to access Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office buildings more than 700 times over the past five years and on at least 25 separate dates in 2022, according to records obtained by Jacksonville Today.
Those numbers, released last week, disproved two years’ worth of blank Stermon access records the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office provided to Jacksonville Today in June. When asked this week whether JSO intentionally created the false record – a violation of Florida’s public records laws – the department blamed the inconsistency on a “software” issue.

When I do a State query, a lot of folks are not included in their list since they gave to one on DeSantis’ PACs. This is a list of $5,000 & up donations that the State of Florida tracks. CLICK HERE. That is why they call the other donations Dark Money.
